網頁:回到過去Castle Tintagel (Japan)Jay Noyes is the founder of and main instructor at Castle Tintagel, the only medieval Western martial arts class in Tokyo. Born in Missouri, Jay has been living in Japan for over 16 years. His main area of expertise is in 14th-century German-style longsword and dagger, but he also teaches sword and buckler as well as a heavy armour fighting class. Jay has trained intensively in the German Art Kampfkunst School under Stefan Dieke. When not teaching sword-fighting, he has written articles on the revival of medieval German sword fighting, as well as helped with motion-capture of sword fighting stunt-work for "Final Fantasy XII."
Medieval German Martial Arts : This German style was taught from 1350-1600 A.D. Exact details are unclear, but the oldest source available, the Nuremberg Manuscript , is considered the source manuscript, and the style appears to have been passed down by a number of sword-fighting teachers. For many centuries, the secrets of this fighting style was lost, but scholars and re-enactors have been reviving it over the past thirty years. They have discovered that it is a rational and aggressive style perfect for the battlefield. The two-handed longsword style concentrates on five main strokes, which can be combined into several varieties of attacks. It is a highly energetic style, and students will be sure to be amazed by the amount of thinking that has gone into every attack and counterattack.
